Anchor in waist-deep turquoise water at the famous Islamorada sandbar. Crank up the music, get on a float, and stay until it's time to head back. Bring whatever you'd like in the cooler — we bring everything else.

Where We Go

The famous Islamorada sandbar sits in the Whale Harbor / Holiday Isle channel — a 10-minute ride from our launch at MM 86. The water there is waist-deep, sand-bottomed, and almost impossibly clear on a calm day. On weekends boats raft up and the sandbar turns into a floating beach party; on a weekday morning you might have a long stretch of it almost to yourself.

Captain Rene watches the tide and wind and picks the best spot to anchor — sometimes the main bar, sometimes the calmer back side. Either way you're stepping into knee-to-waist-deep turquoise water with a stocked cooler 10 feet from your float.

Sandbar Trip FAQs

Where exactly is the Islamorada sandbar?

It's in the Whale Harbor / Holiday Isle channel — about a 10-minute ride from our dock at MM 86 in Venetian Shores. We anchor on the bay side where the water is calmest.

How deep is the water at the sandbar?

Knee-to-waist deep at the main bar, depending on tide. Kids can stand in most of it. We can also drift off into slightly deeper water if you want to swim.

Can we bring food and alcohol?

Absolutely — BYOB is welcome and encouraged. The cooler comes stocked with ice and water, you bring everything else.

What's the best time of day to go?

Late morning to mid-afternoon is the classic window. Tide matters more than time of day — a low or rising tide makes the bar widest. The captain will pick the best slot for the day you book.

What if it rains?

The captain calls weather days. If we can't safely run the trip we'll reschedule for a date that works for you, or fully refund — your choice.

Can we add a snorkel stop?

Yes — that's our most popular package. See the Snorkel + Sandbar Combo.
