Up to 6 guests ~4 hours Year-round

The ultimate Keys day in one trip. Slide off the swim platform onto a vibrant Islamorada reef, then move on to the famous sandbar to wade, float, and unwind in waist-deep crystal water. Captain Rene reads the conditions each morning and picks the best reef for the day.

Where We Go

We launch from Venetian Shores at MM 86 and head to one of Islamorada's classic reef spots — most often Alligator Reef Lighthouse, Cheeca Rocks, or Crocker Reef, depending on wind and visibility that morning. You'll snorkel for about an hour over coral heads in 8–15 ft of water, with parrotfish, snapper, and on the right day, a green sea turtle gliding under the boat.

From the reef we cruise to the famous Islamorada sandbar in the Whale Harbor / Holiday Isle channel — waist-deep, sand-bottom, and the warmest, clearest water in the Keys. Drop the anchor, get on a float, and stay until it's time to head back.

Snorkel + Sandbar FAQs

How long is the trip?

About 4 hours total — roughly 1 hour of snorkeling at the reef, then ~2 hours at the sandbar, with travel time in between.

What's the difference between this and the Sandbar-only trip?

The combo adds the reef snorkel stop. If you mainly want to float and relax, the sandbar trip is the better pick. If you want to see fish and reef in clear water, get the combo.

Will we actually see fish?

Almost always — parrotfish, sergeant majors, snapper, angelfish are common. Sea turtles and small reef sharks are a frequent bonus.

Is this OK for kids who've never snorkeled?

Yes. The reef is shallow, the captain stays close, and life jackets/floaties are available. Kids often spend more time at the sandbar than the reef and that's totally fine.

Can we bring food and drinks?

Absolutely. The cooler comes stocked with ice and water — bring whatever else you'd like. BYOB is welcome.

What if the weather looks bad?

The captain calls weather days. If we can't safely snorkel we'll do an extended sandbar trip, reschedule, or fully refund — your choice.
